CULTURAL WORKERS CONFERENCE CUM WORKSHOP ON BANGSAMORO HERITAGE AGENDA FORMULATION
As part of the culmination of the “Kadja’an” Bangsamoro Heritage Festival, BCPCH Regional Office conducted the Cultural Workers Conference Cum Workshop on Bangsamoro Heritage Agenda Formulation on Friday, June 02, 2023, at Alnor Convention Hall, Cotabato City.
Facilitated by the Resource Person Mr. Datu Errol Jabbar U. Sinsuat, Jr., the whole-day workshop participated by the Cultural Masters, Provincial Staff, and Commissioners of each province, aimed to preserve and strengthen the Bangsamoro Living Traditions through workshop activity by laying down issues, concerns, and vision of Bangsamoro Heritage in agenda formulation. It also aimed to assist the Commission acquire ideas, develop policies, and establish practices to better equip the Bangsamoro creative communities to maintain the living traditions of the Bangsamoro people.
As a result, the Commission could use all of the data obtained and documented as a reference in developing policies to strengthen the preservation and conservation of cultural heritage in the BARMM.
“KADJA’AN” AWARDING CEREMONY AND CULTURAL NIGHT PROGRAM
Following the Cultural Workers Cum Workshop on Bangsamoro Heritage Agenda Forum, the Awarding Ceremony and Cultural Night Program was held culminating the ‘Kadja’an” Bangsamoro Heritage Festival. This was attended by the Cultural Masters, Provincial Staff, Commissioners, and BCPCH Regional Personnel.
During the program, the Commissioner of each province delivered a message outlining the province’s experiences, accomplishments, and ways forward on the “Kadja’an” Bangsamoro Heritage Festival and Cultural Booth Exposition in no particular order: Sulu Commissioner Ardan D. Sali, Tawi_Tawi Commissioner Elmasia L. Madjilon, Basilan Commissioner Merfa Ahamad-Ampao represented by her Executive Assistant Farida Salasim, Lanao del Sur Commissioner Robert M. Alonto, and Chairperson and concurrent Commissioner for Maguindanao Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D. This was followed by the awarding of plaques certificates, and tokens to each province along with Cultural Masters and staff.
Wearing colorful cultural attire symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of five provinces of the Bangsamoro Region (Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Basilan) was one of the highlights of the Cultural Night program.
The Commission would like to thank everyone who visited and participated in the “Kadja’an” Bangsamoro Heritage Festival, especially employees from the BARMM ministries, offices, Key Officials, and other guests/visitors. In line with the theme: “Preserving the Bangsamoro Heritage through Living Tradition”, the festival is in celebration of the 2023 National Heritage Month, which is observed in the month of May by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 439, which aims to actively foster consciousness, respect, and love for the nation’s culture and history among Filipinos.
