BCPCH Bridges a Meeting between the NHCP Chairperson and the BARMM’s Chief Minister in Preparation of the 650th Anniversary of the Philippine Muslim History and Heritage
The Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH-BARMM), under the leadership of Chairperson Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D., bridged a meeting on December 6, 2023, between the National Heritage Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and the BARMM Office of the Chief Minister (OCM). The purpose of the meeting was to streamline the preparations for the upcoming 650th Anniversary of the Philippine Muslim History and Heritage.
NHCP Chairperson Emmanuel F. Calairo outlined the preparations for the said significant anniversary and the roles of NHCP, BARMM, and other government agencies who are members of the Situmiayat Wakhamsun Aldhikraa National Committee (SWANC). The SWANC is created by Administrative Order No. 10, s. 2023, issued by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., to spearhead the country’s efforts in commemorating the 650th Anniversary of the Philippine Muslim History and Heritage 2023.
Aside from BCPCH and NHCP Chairpersons, the meeting was attended by BCPCH Executive Director Akmad D. Mama and NHCP Historic Site Development Officer II Gerwill John Cruz. Also, the Commission is extending its appreciation to Chief of Operations Division Aaron-Jeff D. Usman and Chief of Administration and Finance Division Jobayra P. Tandalong for their valuable support to the success of the meeting. The Commission is also extending its thanks to Group Commander Markton G. Abo of the 16 RCDG-BARMM for their invaluable assistance during the NHCP and BCPCH Key Officials’ inspection of the Old Provincial Capitol at PC Hill, Cotabato City. This structure holds cultural significance and is considered an important cultural property.
