Comprising of respected local historians and consultants from the provinces of the BARMM, the Review Committee is entrusted with the vital task of scrutinizing and validating drafts incorporating recommendations and inputs for the development of writing of the Bangsamoro history. This committee includes Dr. Alhamdi G. Alonto, Adam T. Acmad, Alano T. Kadil, Abdulnasser S. Baguindang, Johnny R. Lee, Damona C. Sadhail, Dr. Muhmin T. Lamla, and Abduljim J. Hassan. The collective expertise of these historians and consultants will play a pivotal role in reviewing researches and narratives that encapsulate the writing of the Bangsamoro History based on our perspectives.
Apart from the creation of review committee, key topics included the presentation of updates on the writing of Bangsamoro History Phase I for the F.Y. 2022 and Phase II for the F.Y. 2023. The session also delved into the trajectory plan that outlined the strategic roadmap from 2022 to 2028. This forward-looking approach aimed to streamline the writing process, address potential hurdles, and ensure a systematic and inclusive approach to documenting the history of the Bangsamoro.
During the consultation, BCPCH Chairperson and concurrent Commissioner for Maguindanao, Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D. emphasized the crucial role and participation of all in the writing of the Bangsamoro history. The Chairperson reiterated that the primary mandate of the BCPCH is to document the history of the Bangsamoro based from our own perspectives. He also expressed gratitude to all attendees of the said consultation for their presence, stressing that the collaborative effort of local historians and consultants is indispensable in ensuring the authenticity and inclusivity of the Bangsamoro historical narratives.
The stakeholder’s consultative meeting served as a platform for local historians and consultants, as well as the BCPCH Key Officials to engage, share insights, and actively participate in the ongoing process of documenting the rich history of the Bangsamoro. This would have not been possible without the support of the BCPCH Executive Director Akmad D. Mama and the Chief of Operations Mr. Aaron-Jeff D. Usman, and the contribution of History and Archives Section headed by Ms. Esnaira Salem.
