BCPCH caters to more than 60 Bangsamoro Women Orphans for National Women’s Month Celebration

More cultural programs are set to be implemented in the region, specifically in Cotabato City. This is in line with the signing of the Mutual of Understanding (MOU) between BCPCH Chairperson and concurrent Commissioner for Maguindanao Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D., and Cotabato City Mayor Hon. Bruce Dela Cruz Matabalao during the Commission’s courtesy visit on February 1, 2023 at Office of City Mayor, City Hall, Cotabato City.

The signed Mutual of Understanding (MOU) of BCPCH and the city government of Cotabato gives a green light for future collaborations on the implementation of cultural projects and activities highlighting the preservation, conservation and promotion of the Bangsamoro culture and heritage.

On behalf of the Chairperson, Coordination and Support Services Division Chief Aaron-Jeff D. Usman relayed the goal of the Bangsamoro Government through BCPCH to advance

the mainstreaming of the rich culture, heritage and identity of the people of Bangsamoro with the inclusive development of women, youth and other vulnerable sectors.

Bringing Hygiene Kits containing toiletries and other female necessities for both orphans and teachers totaling to 70 people, BCPCH-BARMM also provided FREE Iftar for everyone on the orphanage in tune to the Holy Month of Ramadan that is also being celebrated this March. As part of strengthening their Culture and Heritage, a handful of selected children were also requested to recite Surah (Qur’an Verses) to assess their learnings regarding their belief and identity as Bangsamoros. By doing the aforementioned activity components, the event then fully embodies the virtues on Charity, Community Support and Spiritual Growth which adheres to the teachings of Islam. IHH Orphanage Director Ahmad Lipolos then expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Commission for recognizing the charity they represent as the beneficiary. In addition, he emphasized the important nature of these kinds of acts during Ramadan. Recognizing the efforts of women empowerment as manifested by the significant contribution of women teachers in the orphanage and fostering a compassionate and caring culture through the efforts of IHH Orphanage Director Lipolos, the Commission hopes that this action will create a domino effect and more organization will lend a hand in helping the orphans uplift their living conditions for their future.

BCPCH is the primary institution in preserving the history, culture, arts, tradition, and rich cultural heritage of the Bangsamoro people across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
