BCPCH Conducts its Orientation Program as well as the Oath Taking Ceremony of its Newly Hired Personnel

In keeping the spirit of We-Centric Leadership tagline of the Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH-BARMM), the Commission has set a standard schedule of Weekly Orientation Program that will be taken every Friday to all its employees to give updates of the Commission’s programs and activities and pave way of knowledge sharing and experiences of employees who have attended seminars, workshops, and other activities within and outside the Commission.

On September 15, 2023, BCPCH-Regional Senior Museum Specialist Romel T. Villaflor and BCPCH-Maguindanao Provincial Office Community Affairs Officer II Tahir D. Ampuan presented their post travel report through a lecture on the activity entitled: “Unveiling the Past: The First Archeological Survey of Lanao del Sur”. The activity was in collaboration between the BCPCH Lanao del Sur Provincial Office, the University of the Philippines School of Archeology, the Mindanao State University – Marawi City and IIT, and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur.

The said employees from BCPCH-Regional and Maguindanao Provincial Office were invited to participate in the 6-day archeological activity to learn from the experienced archeologists, researchers, and other cultural workers. Such involvement was an opportunity in sharing knowledge, insights, and fieldwork methodologies that will be valuable in laying the future groundwork of the Commission for a similar undertaking.

During the archeological survey, the team were then able to collect artifacts and gathered information in the following archeological and heritage sites within municipalities of Lanao del Sur: Picong, Malabang, Ganassi, Bayang, Binidayan, Bacolod-Kalawi, Saguiaran, Marantao, Tugaya, and Taraka.

Meanwhile, in addressing and stressing the relevance of Islamic perspective as well as Moral Governance in the hearts of BCPCH employees, the Commission’s Chairperson Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D., led the Oath Taking Ceremony of the newly hired personnel held at the Bangsamoro Museum. Such newly hired employees who have sworn their oath were Sittie Johayra S. Gundarangan (Attorney II), Alamin K. Agting (Administrative Assistant II), Baby Ruhayna S. Abas (Clerk III), Wael T. Abas (Computer Operator II), Catrene M. Lali (Senior Museum Specialist), Najmah M. Kalid (Assistant Planning Officer), Fatma P. Lindatu (Administrative Assistant I), Romel T. Villaflor (Senior Museum Specialist), Norhanisah A. Salik (Administrative Aide V), and Formoso L. Dagunan (Administrative Aide – Driver).

Chairperson Lingasa, Ph. D. and Executive Director Akmad D. Mama, along with other Key Officials are expecting all Commission’s personnel especially the newly hired to embody the Islamic perspective of employment in reference to Moral Governance of the BARMM as cultural workers front-lining of preserving the cultures and heritage of the Region in support with the Commission as the leading institution of the Bangsamoro Government in the preservation, implementation, and promotion of the cultural programs and heritage of the Bangsamoro.

BCPCH is the primary institution in preserving the history, culture, arts, tradition, and rich cultural heritage of the Bangsamoro people across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The Commission is currently under the leadership of Chairperson Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D
