BCPCH honors individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of Arts, Culture and Heritage as one of the highlights of Shariff Kabunsuan Festival

As the leading institution in the Bangsamoro that has a primary responsibility to establish and sustain the cultural institutions, programs and project in the BARMM region, the Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH) – Maguindanao Provincial Office spearheaded an activity as one of the highlights of Shariff Kabunsuan Festival with the theme “Pagkilala sa Pangkulturang Pamana ng Bangsamoro” on December 15, 2023, at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex (SKCC), Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC), Cotabato City.
 
The purpose of this activity was to recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of arts, culture and heritage, and dedication by acknowledging their accomplishments, highlighting the importance of cultural workers in the society and promote appreciation for their invaluable contributions.
 
During the message of the BARMM Chief Minister Hon. Ahod B. Ebrahim, he underscored, “Ang Shariff Kabunsuan Peacebuilders Awards ay isang pagkilala sa natatanging kontribusyon ni Shariff Kabunsuan sa buhay nang bawat Bangsamoro. Ito’y inspirasyon upang patuloy na magsikap para sa kapayapaan. Ang Parangal na ito ay instrumento nang pagbabago at tagapagtaguyod nang mas mapayapang Bangsamoro”.
 
In the Message of Support of MOLE Minister Hon. Muslimin G. Sema, he highlighted that the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival signifies the traditions and rich cultural heritage in one big celebration, to converge the regional ministries, the local government units, and the business sector leveraging on the local economic benefits of tourism, giving highlights on cultural solidarity with the Bangsamoro government.
 
“The event will give opportunities to locals and tourists to discover their culture, history, and traditions where the main focus is inclusivity, peace and togetherness where Muslims, Christians, and Indigenous Peoples co-exist in harmony.” – He added.
 
The Shariff Kabunsuan Festival is deeply rooted in history, holding a special place in our hearts, the hearts of the Bangsamoro people. As it commemorates the pivotal moment of the arrival of Shariff Kabunsuan in Mindanao and its profound impact on the cultural and religious landscape of the area. The festival serves as a tribute to his contributions and serves as a reminder of the enduring influence of Islam in the region.
 
Under the leadership of BCPCH Chairperson and concurrent Commissioner for Maguindanao Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D., the Commission expressed gratitude to all who attended, especially to the MTIT Bureau of Tourism Director Engr. Marites K. Maguindra and MOLE Minister Hon. Muslimin G. Sema. Also, the event would not be possible without the effort of BCPCH Executive Director Akmad D. Mama, together with the BCPCH Maguindanao staff who played important roles in the success of this activity.
 
 
BCPCH, under the leadership of Chairperson Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D., is the primary institution in preserving the history, culture, arts, tradition, and rich cultural heritage of the Bangsamoro people across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
