BCPCH Key Officials and MSU-Marawi Delegates Pay a Courtesy Visit to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim on the Writings of Bangsamoro History

Cotabato City – BCPCH Key Officials led by Chairperson and concurrent Commissioner for Maguindanao Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D., and the Mindanao State University officials represented by Vice Chancellor Elin Arisha C. Guro presented the program and plans of action related to the Writing of Bangsamoro History to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim thru a courtesy visit held last January 12, 2023.

The Chief Minister affirmed the importance of the writing process that is anchored with the integration of Bangsamoro struggle for self-determination and the development of the Bangsamoro civilization by taking into account different perspectives and narratives. After all, the collection, corroboration, and integration will derive the truth and authoritative narrative of the collective history of the Bangsamoro. 

As such, it is inherently necessary to partner with the academe, that being said Mindanao State University, and with other Ministries and instrumentalities of the  BARMM for synergized efforts, Chief Ebrahim emphasized.

The project divided into three components: Bangsamoro History Book Project; Promotion of Bangsamoro Studies; and Annual conference with expected output such as Bangsamoro History Book, Bangsamoro Resource Center, and other relevant scholarly avenues for promotion and discussion of Bangsamoro history.

Said visit was attended by BCPCH Key Officials and representatives: Commissioner for Lanao del Sur Robert M. Alonto, Executive Director Akmad D. Mama, BCPCH Lanao Provincial Staff Ruhollah Alonto, Ronie A. Sasaban, and Iman M. Lucman.

Also, officials from MSU represented by Vice Chancellor Elin Anisha C. Guro, OVCRED (MSU Graduate Studies) Dr. Sohayle M. Hadji Abdul Racman, Zehabudin Guro, Norhata M. Gubat, Haya T. Guimon, and Mohammad Hisham A, Hadji Jamel, were part of the courtesy visit.

BCPCH is the primary institution in preserving the history, culture, arts, tradition, and rich cultural heritage of the Bangsamoro people across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
